Kat Maier explains how we can interact with the consciousness of plants.
If you're a regular follower of the Connecting with Coincidence podcast, you know that I have a deep connection with trees. Plants are living, breathing entities with consciousness, which means we can find ways to communicate with them. So I'm delighted this week to speak with Kat Maier, a true plant whisperer.
As a former Peace Corps volunteer in Chile, coupled with her training as a Physician’s Assistant, Kat is able to weave the language of biomedicine with traditional energetic systems.
As a lead-in to the podcast this week, here's one of my own coincidence stories:
On a recent Zoom call where we were discussing synchronicity, one participant described going to a large store, which had very few customers inside at the time. In the store, she encountered two men with injured left legs, plus a third one with a prosthetic left leg. She wondered if this serial coincidence might have any meaning for her and whether it might have something to do with her own leg. A few days later on a hike, her left knee began to throb. "Osteoarthritis," declared her physician. These three men mirrored a problem she did not know she had. Then she discovered she did. In our Zoom meeting, another participant then described how his wife currently has severe rheumatoid arthritis in her right knee. So here was another mirror image. How did it happen that the wife of a person on a Zoom call could be placed directly in front of the person with osteoarthritis like a mirror, left knee and right knee?
My guest on this week’s podcast episode is Kat Maier. She is the co-author of Bush Medicine of San Salvador Island, Bahamas, and author of Energetic Herbalism: A Guide to Sacred Plant Traditions Integrating Elements of Vitalism, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine. This book won the Gold Medal Nautilus Award in 2022. Learn more about Kat and her work here.
