Mystical experiences, emergent phenomena, and the future of mental health — with Daniel Ingram.

What if some experiences we call strange, spiritual, or even pathological are actually part of recognizable human patterns?
In this episode of Connecting with Coincidence, Bernard Beitman, MD speaks with Daniel Ingram about an emerging field he calls phenomeniatry: the clinical study of extraordinary human experiences that often fall outside conventional psychiatry and medicine.
Daniel brings an unusual combination of perspectives to this conversation. He is a retired emergency physician, a longtime meditation practitioner, and a researcher interested in mystical, energetic, psychedelic, meditative, and transformative experiences. Together, Bernard and Daniel explore how these experiences might be better understood, studied, and skillfully navigated.
Their conversation touches on attention-based healing, trauma release, energetic phenomena, meditation-induced shifts in perception, and the need for clinicians who can better distinguish between psychiatric crisis and spiritual or psychological transformation.
