Explore your heart’s three forms of intuition, with Rollin McCraty of HearthMath

You’re not imagining it: When you walk into a room and feel a thick atmosphere, your intuition is registering something very real. Rollin McCraty of the HearthMath Institute has the data!
Your heart emits energy that carries information. That information accumulates in groups in both positive and negative ways. Each of us is immersed on a global magnetic field that connects us all in unseen ways. On this week’s podcast, you can get to know this field with Rollin’s help. Interested in tree communication? Enjoy that last 20 minutes!
Rollin McCraty, Ph.D. is Director of Research at the HeartMath Institute, where his work focuses on how our heart and emotions influence our thinking, behavior, social harmony and health — and even the Earth’s global energetic systems. You’ll love this wide-ranging discussion on how our hearts literally resonate to create change.
As you may know, I start each podcast with a synchronicity story of my own. This week’s story is a parallel with what happened between my father and me, and an eerily similar situation that happened to someone else:
For years, I’ve studied simulpathity — that is, the experience of the pain of a loved one at a distance. My interest in this began with my own experience at age 31 in San Francisco when one night I was choking uncontrollably. I learned the next day that my father, 3,000 thousand miles away, had been choking on his own blood and dying at that same moment. So my father and I were experiencing something very similar at the exact same time. And my research, plus the research of others, suggests this is not an uncommon or weird experience. Similarly, a recent guest on my podcast, Terje Simonsen from Norway, told me that one morning a friend of his had awoken and felt his palatine uvula (the little thing hanging down in the back of the throat) expanding so much that it nearly choked him. It was the first and the last time he had ever experienced something like this. Later that day, the man discovered that at the very moment of his choking, his father had fallen in the local river and died by drowning, choking on water. Thought it’s a negative experience in this case, it can be quite comforting to know that other people experience the same weird things that you and I do. That’s one of the values of my book, Meaningful Coincidences, as well as joining us at The Coincidence Cafe. You’ll find that you’re not alone in these weird coincidences.
On my podcast this week, I’m thrilled to host Rollin McCraty, PhD, Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the HeartMath Institute. Rollin has been the Principal Investigator in numerous research studies examining the outcomes of positive emotion-focused interventions and heart rhythm coherence feedback in diverse organizational and educational settings as well as various clinical populations.
Rollin has been featured in a number of documentary films such as I Am, The Truth, The Joy of Sox, The Power of the Heart, Solar Revolution, and The Living Matrix, among many others. Learn more about him and his work at HeartMath.org.
